Gremlin started to release compilation cassettes in the mid-80s. Their more popular compilations called “Star Games”, featured hit games from the biggest magazines of the time for each computer platform; ZZap!64, Crash and Amtix.

“ELITE LEGAL ROW OVER STAR CLASH
ELITE publisher Superior Software was taking legal advice last week over the appearance of a BBC game STAR CLASH published by Gremlin.
Superior Software claims that the game is a clone of its best-selling game, and as a gesture Gremlin boss Ian Stewart has agreed to withdraw STAR CLASH from sale while both companies continue their investigations.”

Off The Hook
Off The Hook (OTH) was Rod Cousens second charity drive after setting up Soft Aid. OTH fed many charities including The Prince’s Trust and was supported again by Gremlin donating games to the compilation.

Gauntlet II
After the success of the original Gauntlet it was inevitable that U.S.Gold would push to leverage its rights to the sequel. The original Gremlin Birmingham team that had done a stellar job the first time around were bolstered by the addition of Richard Costello to its ranks who helped deliver Gauntlet II to all platforms – including the Amiga.
