Gremlin Games Aureal A3D Press Release

Hot New Gremlin Games to Support Aureal A3D.

Aureal and Gremlin Announce New Upcoming Titles Featuring Support for A3D

Positional Audio and Aureal Wavetracing Technologies

FREMONT, Calif., and SHEFFIELD, England, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ — Aureal Semiconductor Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AURL) and Gremlin Interactive Ltd. today announced that new titles from Gremlin’s upcoming release slate, including Wild Metal Country and Rally Masters will incorporate Aureal’s award-winning A3D(TM) 2.0 positional audio technology with Aureal Wavetracing(TM). Gremlin’s anticipated third-person perspective shooter, Blade, will include positional audio via Aureal’s highly acclaimed A3D 1.0.

Both Wild Metal Country and Rally Masters are vehicle-based 3D simulation games, with gameplay that takes place in a wide variety of outdoor and semi-enclosed environments. By incorporating positional audio technology and Aureal Wavetracing, Gremlin is dramatically enhancing the level of realism already provided by its advanced 3D graphics engine — simulating complex aural environments in real time.

Wild Metal Country is the latest game from creative powerhouse DMA Design. Tribes of war-machines have evolved taking on animal characteristics in a superb combat/action game. Great graphics and unbelievably realistic physics make WMC a superb experience in either single or multi-player modes. Rally Masters comes from DICE, the team that gave us Motorhead. This time DICE has created the most realistic Rally game ever with graphics to shame even Motorhead. Rally Masters is already being heralded as probably the PC racing game of the year.

“We’re really pleased to be working with Gremlin to increase the immersion factor of these great games,” said Skip McIlvaine, Aureal’s Developer Relations Manager. “The implementation of A3D 2.0 in these titles is extremely impressive.”

“Aureal’s powerful A3D APIs have enabled us to rapidly add advanced audio simulation features to our game engines,” said James North-Hearn, Gremlin’s Development Director. “Sound, in addition to graphics, is an increasingly important component in providing an immersive gameplay environment and Aureal’s technologies enable us to fulfill that need in a robust manner.”
